I was contacted by, and am working with, William Susman to create a series of graphics for his record label’s upcoming release(s). William is a a talented composer and pianist. I believe the first album to come out will be by the Octet Ensemble (NYC) – http://www.octetensemble.com/ William tracked me down by my Isometric art post from a while back. We’ve been working together to create the “right” kind of “random” and the right color palette. It’s a fun project being able to resurrect an old experiment and make some work out of it. I am thinking about making some more art available for people. Here are a couple pieces to look at:

I entered a design in a contest. I normally don’t do such things, but this is a logo design contest for Last Gasp publishing, who make awesome art books and are general weirdos in SF, CA. So I really couldn’t pass that up! The “challenge” was to redesign their logo (skull and crossbones basically) in a new way. I sketched up a quick idea super fast with the idea being the exposed brain in the skull spelling out “Last Gasp”. Then I refined it a smidge, threw it onto a computer, and dinked around with it until it was “DONE”. I certainly could have spent more time tweaking all the little things here and there, and would/could if I win the contest, certainly, but I didn’t want to invest too much time when I have so many other things going on. The winner(s) will be announced on April 1, and I’m excited to see what all people enter. It should be funny and weird and cool. Anyway- here is some of the images:

Also – I printed the Killigans 10 Year Anniversary show poster, gold, greeen and black on white paper. I was going for a kind of stained-glass rosette looking composition, some people got it, most did not. I think it looks cool:

things are good. I’m working on about 10 other things including Tacocat, a children’s book, a poster for firefighters, art and prints of my 1%ers series, and probably more things I can’t think of !!!
