I guess I’m into word art right now! I’m kind of stuck on a particular word, but I’m thinking about branching out. What are your favorite words? Would you like to commission a piece? Let me know! I’d love to work with you!
I’d like to talk about my latest art print – LOVE. It’s a combination of my experiments with digital art creation and screen-printing. I designed the piece using results from the random isometric color engine I built. Then I used Photoshop to tweak the results and add “love” in with a contrasting color scheme. I think the design itself is pleasing, balanced, and “right”. Then I processed the image for halftone reproduction and printed it in 3 colors (CMY) on 100lb poster board. I think it really pops. I approach every printing project with a certain amount of optimism and dread, and I think I made it out of this one OK. I think it looks really great!
It’s a limited run of 25, costs $40, and I have a few left, so grab one today! http://benswift.com/product/love-isometric-art-print-limited/
I have also put up all of my “lil’ fuck” collages that I’ve created so far. They are a fun experiment in collecting and using vintage comic book lettering in a fun way. I really enjoy not only creating the individual pieces, but hunting for interesting lettering, and getting specific color combinations. I’m thinking about writing some kind of article about the letters, but I don’t know what it would be about. I’m certainly not an expert on comics at all. You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to find a white K with a dropshadow on a green background. I haven’t found one yet.
These are available in my store too! Cost $25, and ship fast! Make great gifts and conversation starters!

I’m also painting some “lil’ fuck” pieces in large format. I enlarge a photo of a collage on my projector and make it about 50 to 100 times bigger. It’s a fun exercise. I think the result is both fun and funny and kind of stupid. Ah, art. The top two here are newer, the bottom 2 I posted last time too. Just fun to see them all together. I should just do a show of these. Interested? Let me know!
The latest piece I am working on is a 2 foot by 2 foot sanded pine panel and I’m working with gold foil. Ridiculous? Probably, but I’m learning a lot and it looks great!
I also made some little stencil things, I used one of the collage layouts and separated it to a 3 color stencil. I cut it out of Yupo paper, that stuff is great for stencils.
Have a great day and make some art!
