I’m starting a new series of art prints based on this geometric form I have been a bit obsessed with for the past couple of years. I have done dozens of paintings and drawings of this particular shape configuration in a variety of formats and ratios, and am finally doing some prints of the basic form. I plan to continue to use this basic set of screens to create at least 3 color studies. The first is Red, Yellow, Blue on a neutral field. I am playing with the idea of the border, so not sure if I will commit to a border on all prints or if I will do half and half or some other thing. I am also creating a series of monoprints, which should be pretty interesting by the end of the run. I plan to continue to use these same screens for the duration of the project and hope that any breakdown in the screens, or accidental buildup of “gunk” in the screen will increase the individual characteristics of each piece. I am already seeing some nice “imperfections” amongst the early prints and can’t wait to see how they evolve as I push on to other color combinations.
